Post Partum Day 1, Morning

So I'm hoping that this is 1 of 2 posts today, I start filming my web series today with a lot of great people helping and donating their time and energy to get this project off the ground, it's been a stressful couple of days and things have been tense, I've learned that I'm not cut out for the producing side of film making, at least I haven't learned enough to do it the right way. Now my the easiest time starts, while i spend the next few days telling the actors what to do and filming stuff, now I have to go get my equipment from the school so I can shoot. wish me luck!

Sickness and Sitcoms

So this is short because I am not feeling to well tonight and I have a meeting tomorrow with a potential actress for my web-series. Her name is Cheryl Bricker and she'll be playing the mother in our story, you can see who she is at http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1102459/ she is the friend of one of our teachers named Richard Kuhlman, he will be playing the father in the series, he can be seen here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0474056/ His hair is a bit more gray now but he still acts and recently guest starred on "Trust Me" a tv Drama. Thats all for now, I need to get some sleep.

Dr. Horrible

Recently I've been watching this show/miniseries online called Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. Its a web series Directed by Joss Whedon (from Buffy, Angel, and Firefly) starring Neil Patrick Harris, Yes Doogie Howser M.D. anyways its about a super villain named Dr. Horrible who has several run-ins with his Nemesis Captain Hammer as he tries to change the world and get the girl, it's a really good story and there's music which is pretty catchy.
Now you may be thinking "why are you watching a musical" well 1. I like musicals, and 2. its one of the best web series online so mine has to at least match it in quality. so you should all go look it up on HULU here's the url http://www.hulu.com/dr-horribles-sing-along-blog and enjoy it, now I have to get back to work.

All the scripty details.

Tonight is going to be really short because I'm currently working on paperwork for 'Strangely Progressive' my web-sitcom, I have to take the scripts I have and pick them apart scene by scene and see what characters, props, costumes, and other important Items are in each one, it's a long tedious process that I don't enjoy so I'm going to go back to it so I can get to bed. goodnight.

My house.

Now today is coming to an end. I didn't sleep all too well last night so I'm actually tired right now. The sitcom and my short were put on hold for today, didn't feel like writing or planning, I wish I had some printer ink then I would be able to print off all the reports I need to in order to plan and budget these scripts. I don't know how much it's all going to cost hopefully we can find everything for cheap or free. for the first 3 minutes of the first episode we have just about 10 locations maybe more, I'm not entirely sure. Tuesday we are supposed to continue writing the scripts and hopefully we'll get two more written.
The house is treating us well, I spent a few hours today cleaning stuff up it looks alot nicer without oranges on the ground in the back yard, or the black tarps hanging on the fences. but yeah that's boring.
having wrote stuff earlier today I'm finding it hard to think of something interesting other than the show's I've been watching, How I met your Mother is really funny, and I've been watching that alot, I looked up some web-sitcoms and none have really caught my attention yet, Clark and Micheal is closer to the series style we want to do but even still it's not what we're looking for. 'Wainy Days" was pretty stupid another okay show is 'Dorm Life' which reminds me of what I wanted to make a while ago. So in a few months we'll see how the shoot goes and then after that we'll see how well the actual show turns out, we will need a lot of views to get anywhere with it, our foremost goal is to get some recognition. But if we can get enough hits maybe we can get picked up by a sponsor.
I finally got around to creating an opening title for my "production company" it's called Pirate's Code Studios and the logo is a ship and a sun, it's a cheap looking animation for now, I'll post the video on here so you can all see it and give me some input (if it looks good, if you can read it okay, etc.)
anyways now I'm tired and It's hot in my room, time to try and get some sleep, goodnight.

Movies, Financial Aide and Nice Weather

Okay, so last night I didn't write anything because I went to see X-men Origins: Wolverine, overall it was a decent movie I have no complaints about the action or adventure in it, the only real issues I have are with Remy Lebeau, yes gambit was a disappointment, they cast a novice actor who had really only done Friday Night lights before hand, he had a Texas accent and didn't even bother trying to sound Cajun, it was a sad portrayal indeed. The question remains who else could play that part? No one that I know of.
and this morning I woke up and Hopped a bus to get to my school to get my financial aide situation straightened out, and everything worked itself out no problem, unfortunately it is such a nice day out that I'm really sad that I have to spend the first part of it indoors, hopefully the next few days are just as nice.

Sitcoms up the Wazoo

Day 2:
Well I guess technically this is an extension of day 1 because its hasn't passed midnight yet, so anyways, I finished my script in time for class and surprisingly it was well received by many people there, the script was a scene from the tv show '30 Rock' and it turned out okay.
More on my other projects, after meeting with my sitcom partner we discussed goals and time-lines for the sitcom and we will have the first draft of all 10 episodes done by the end of may, so that gives us 1 month to write another 100 pages, we have the overall story mapped out so I think we can knock it out pretty quick once we sit down and start on them, I'm really excited for the show to get going, after may we begin casting, finding locations and preparing to actually film the show. So I'll keep posting as things progress.
My gangster film is a tough topic to handle right now, I have a lot of research to do so I can write it more realistically and the time it takes to do that is going to push the shooting back, I may not be able to shoot until september or october, hopefully sooner but I don't know. With that story I am really hoping the story and the visual style I'm going for make it interesting for people to watch. its' going to live action actors in a pencil-sketch world. it should look pretty cool when I'm done with it. I hope.
Classes are going well, I was having some issues with one class. things weren't working out with my actors and such but tonight I got it all fixed so no more worries I just have to stay on top of things and I'll have no problems getting a good grade. The job search continues, but with the economy in its current state and the population of Los Angeles it is difficult, not impossible, just difficult, but I feel confident that I will find something soon, and when I do it will take prescedence over my projects because I can't make the projects without some money for them.
Well thats all for today, I hope to keep daily updates on here and I hope they will be interesting to everyone.

Day 1, 3:26 am

Alright so I finally decided to look into this whole blog thingy, I figure I am going to need to start learning how to use this eventually for business why not start now. Currently I am enrolled as a senior in Columbia College Hollywood in Tarzana, CA and I recently started a series of courses entitled "Production Workshop" these classes are designed too give us as students the chance to create our thesis film projects which can be; a short film we want to make, a full length movie script we want to write, or any crew work we want to do in our time here.
I started this class about a month ago with three potential projects to work on which I will discuss more in depth another day. Currently, however, I have two major projects. one is a short gangster film entitled "Monroe" and another is a Web-Sitcom called "Strangely Progressive" both projects are really going to push me as a filmmaker to an extent that I have never even attempted before and I am happy about that. Anyways seeing as how it is late and I have to write a 7 page script for class this afternoon I am going to get some sleep and wake up bright and early tomorrow.
Goodnight.
